Emergency Veterinary Assistance
Coming Soon
At Yogie's Mission, we believe no family should have to choose between financial hardship and saying goodbye to the pet they love.
Our mission is to provide emergency veterinary assistance to families facing unexpected financial hardship while keeping pets with the people who love them.
As a newly established 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we are actively building our funding through grants, corporate partnerships, fundraising, and generous community support.
At this time, we are not yet accepting financial assistance applications.
We believe transparency is important. Rather than accepting applications we cannot currently fund, we are working diligently to build a sustainable program that will provide meaningful assistance for years to come.
We look forward to opening applications as soon as funding allows.
Our Planned Assistance Program
While our program is still being developed, below is an overview of the assistance we anticipate providing. Please note that these guidelines may change as the organization grows.
Who We Plan to Help
Our initial focus will be on helping families with: Dogs and Cats
As Yogie's Mission grows, we hope to expand our programs and explore opportunities to assist additional companion animals.
Service Area
During our initial launch, assistance is expected to be available for residents of: York County, South Carolina. Future expansion into surrounding communities will depend on available funding and community partnerships.
Types of Emergencies We Hope to Assist
Potential eligible expenses may include:
Emergency veterinary examinations
Diagnostic testing
Emergency surgery
Hospitalization
Life-saving medications
Other urgent veterinary treatments determined on a case-by-case basis
Expenses We Do Not Anticipate Covering
At this time, assistance is not expected to include:
Routine wellness exams
Vaccinations
Spay or neuter procedures
Grooming services
Routine medications
Food and supplies
Elective procedures
Training or behavioral services
As Yogie's Mission grows, we hope to develop additional programs to address some of these needs through community partnerships and donated resources.
Planned Eligibility Requirements
Applicants will likely be required to:
Reside within our service area.
Be the legal owner or primary caregiver of the pet.
Demonstrate financial hardship.
Provide a treatment plan or estimate from a licensed veterinarian.
Meet additional eligibility requirements that will be published when applications officially open
How Assistance Will Work
If approved, assistance will be paid directly to the participating veterinary clinic. Funds will not be distributed directly to applicants. This allows Yogie's Mission to ensure donations are used specifically for veterinary care while creating accountability for our donors and community partners.
Assistance Amounts
Because every situation is unique, assistance will be evaluated on an individual basis.
Award amounts will depend on:
Available funding
Financial need
Medical urgency
Estimated cost of treatment
Other resources available to the family
Our goal is to help as many families as possible while responsibly stewarding every donation entrusted to Yogie's Mission.
